Workin' On It Wednesday #4

I have a few Scripture doodles to share from the week--so thankful for this prayer journal, it's such a joy to create these doodles and look back over what I've done...It's really helped keep me centered on God rather than worrying about what's coming up...

And this is just a batch of envelopes I made last week for the new snail mail group. I got a gorgeous Tim Holtz scrap paper stack on clearance and whipped these up in no time--can't wait to use them!

Speaking of mail--I have lots to look forward to this week: ordered a few books from B&N with a gift card I got for Mother's Day so they should be here tomorrow, AND!! I have a new 36ct. set of Inktense Blocks on the way from Amazon--toy joy!! They are my reward for reaching my weight loss halfway mark--woohoo! Ten and a half pounds down this month--can you say "Plateau busted!!"? Oh yeah!

Hubby goes to the neurosurgeon this afternoon. Not sure what exactly to expect for how soon they'll schedule surgery or if he'll need another MRI first. Trying not to dwell too much on things I can't control. Just trying to keep myself busy making pretties and taking one day at a time...

So, that's my weekly wrap up--thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you next week!

Workin' On It Wednesday #3

Another busy week behind us and summer is fast approaching. We had less than happy news from Bill's MRI that he'll need back surgery for sure. Now we wait to get him scheduled with the neurologist, then onward. It's hard not knowing what tomorrow will bring, but-honestly-do we ever? So, one day at a time, trusting God to handle the details. All I can do.

I managed to keep up in my Scripture/prayer journal all week:

And now my friend, Dawn, at Enthusiastically Dawn, is hosting another Journaling Journey through June that I've decided to participate in to help me process everything that is going on and coming up, to sort some priorities, and try to keep on track. You can click on the link for more information and to join the journey with us if you'd like. Dawn's also offering a journal giveaway--check it out here!

I was also invited to join a new snail mail group, a sort of spin off of National Letter Writing Month, and since I'm totally missing my mailbox being all full of pretties, I thought I'd jump in on that as well. And as an introductory challenge, (I believe...haven't heard officially yet...) we are to create a little zine that tells a little about ourselves to send to the other members--here's the cover of mine:

I love the Mad Hatter hat!
I started to print them out and my printer got all gloppy--I hope it works better today! But the zine was a lot of fun to make and I have some goodies lined up to make another one later...can't wait to see what the others have done!

Today is our weigh in for the Biggest Loser Challenge on Spark People and I'm down another pound and a half! Yay!! I also finally made it into my size 10 jeans--super yay! But...I only have that one pair--and one pair of capris that are a 10...I have three pairs of size 8 jeans and a few shorts in that super skinny size--so waiting to shop...I.Will.Get.There!!!

Off to go rowing later this morning and a few chores to tackle--looks like a beautiful day here in New England, sunshine and breezes! Thanks for stopping by--have a great week!

Workin' On It Wednesday #2

I know, it's been quiet again around here lately. I've got an awful lot on my plate right at the moment and trying to keep up in the mornings as best I can, but some things fall by the wayside once in a while. I can't do it all! But I'll try to catch you all up right quick here this morning...

I had a lovely long day to myself yesterday. McBugga went to a friend's house after school and stayed for dinner, hubster had to work late, so I had ALL DAY to play!! I put on the coffee, pulled out my markers and doodled myself happy! I actually had quite a bit of catching up to do in my Scripture/prayer journal, so took care of that first:

This one has a beautiful story that I wanted to share...Need.More.Time.In.The.Day!

Spent the rest of the afternoon working on snail mail projects--got those halfway caught up, hope to get the remainder done today. My pile of things that need my attention keeps growing and I'm falling seriously behind, so much that I don't know where to begin to try to catch up...I've thought about trying to put down a daily schedule for each thing but it's a struggle just to prioritize. Such a vicious cycle!! Feeling overwhelmed which makes me get even less accomplished...It's frustrating losing my focus...

Anyway...on to health matters--I finally broke through my plateau and am down a pound a half from my lowest pre-plateau weight! Hallelujah! Working the Skinny Rules still, sticking to the letter and no fudging or slipping, and I've also joined in a Biggest Loser Challenge on SparkPeople which has been a lot of fun and great motivation. It's also one of those extra things on my plate taking up time and attention, but as long as it's working, I'm sticking with it!!

Heading out to go rowing later this morning, but first, time for breakfast and to get the guys up 'n out the door...Have a great Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Random Journal Day! #40

So I'm a little late to the party here today...I overslept because I was wide awake in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep for a couple hours. Then, once asleep, I didn't want to get up when it was finally time! But it was a busy morning--lots to do, so up 'n at 'em, hit the ground runnin'!

I'm not good at late mornings--I get grumpy and frazzled, the guys don't seem to understand my need for all that 'extra' time and the groove of my routine to get the brain functioning. I muddled through, got everyone fed, dressed, off to the bus, out the door to work, managed a quick work out, got the bills paid, a few errands run, a short list of chores checked off, and--whew! I'm here!!

I don't have a whole lot to share for RJD today since I've had a rotten headache the past three days and I neglected my prayer journal, just trying to make it through the day without retreating back to bed and hiding under the covers. I had planned to work on my post yesterday until I discovered the ridiculous genius of an envelope punch board and went to town making oodles of groovy envies to play with for my mail art swaps and fun! Yeah, there went an entire day out the window (and planning to play more this afternoon! Haha!) Look what I made!

Envelopes made from a story book, maps, magazines, brochures, and a Chinese take out menu!

Yeah, shiny objects...Anyway, my headache did finally let up late yesterday, a wee bit stuffy this morning, but nothing unbearable--and I was so excited from Bible study this morning to find a few more verses to doodle--this has really become my joy lately! (And envie making...help me!)

Here's a couple quick Scripture doodles from my prayer journal (this is supposed to be about the journaling!! So sorry...)

It is absolutely GORGEOUS outside--after it drizzled on my row time this morning (grrff!!) Door's open, Pea's sunning, birds are all singing. I'm gonna run and grab some lunch (black bean soup that is so yum!!), finish up some computer thingees I need to do, and on with the day! Hope you have a super fantastic weekend!! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to pop on over to Dawn's to check out more journal love and maybe share a post!
